Summer Programs

If you want to get a taste of what Wharton’s all about, we’ve got summer programs for high school students and international undergraduates, designed to help you develop leadership skills and explore your interests in business. While each of these programs will help you understand what it means to be a student at Wharton, participation in them is in no way related to the admissions process.

Leadership in the
Business World
A four-week summer business institute for rising high school seniors, offers an introduction to the fundamentals of leadership in 21st century business. Students attend Wharton classes and participate in organized trips and activities.

The Management & Technology Summer Institute
A for-credit summer program for rising high school seniors, brings together technological concepts and management principles. The Institute features classes taught by leading Wharton faculty and successful entrepreneurs, as well as laboratory experience, field trips to companies and R&D facilities, intensive team projects, and other activities designed to help you learn the principles and practice of technological innovation.

Leadership, Education,
and Development
A four-week program introducing minority high school students to key areas of business, reflects a long-standing commitment to developing business leaders through business education. First established at Wharton, the LEAD program has become a nationwide initiative with programs at ten other universities.

Summer Institute in Business & Technology
A four-week summer program for international undergraduates enrolled full-time in universities abroad, the Summer Institute offers two courses (management and high-tech ventures), site visits to companies, visits from corporate representatives, guest lecturers, and optional coaching on oral and written communications (in English). Sponsored by Wharton and Penn Engineering, the program also functions as a cultural immersion experience for international students.
